Views of the 1900 Paris Exposition

The 1900 Paris Exposition coincided with one of the peaks of stereoview popularity, and consequently was heavily stereographed.

The first group are part of the series retailed by Felix Potin. Potin was an entrepeneur who built up a massive chain of shops in 19th century France. The name is still in existence and you can buy chocolates from him if you so desire. Click HERE for a history. The views are well produced and in excellent condition.

The last section of this page comprises a group of good amateur views taken by a Spanish photographer who was visiting Paris and took in the Expo while he was there. They provide a refreshing individual view away from the posed mass-production of companies like Underwood. As the titles are visible (albeit in Spanish) I have not repeated them. The views are numbered and I have put them in the original order. The emulsion is a bit brittle and white patches indicate loss (especially at the edges). Price reflects that but I have not given condition and NOT specifically mentioned these losses as they are obvious from the images.
