This is an interesting, possibly expreimental, view by B.K. of Paris. Title of series 'Marines Instantanees'. This view titled '6974. Transport a Vapeur'. On some kind of early celluloid-type material for viewing with backlight.
Condition. Scratches on surface. Celluloid needs removing from mount to remove creases. No damage.

Globe Photo Art Co., Bettsville, Ohio. '"Whaleback" Landing, Jackson Park'. Pennsylvania photographer R. K. Bonine made scarce views of machine shops of the Pennsylvania Railroad at Altoona, PA and also a series of the 1889 Johnstown flood. In 1890 he joined with Carleton H. Graves, L. M. Melander and Brother, W. M. Chase, and the Gates Brothers of Chicago to form the Globe Photo Art Company in Bettsville, Ohio, which centralized printing and distribution. Their views sold for $2 a dozen, which was a competitive price at the time. Bonine issued views either copied or obtained from other photographers.
