Held between May 10 and November 10 1876, this was the first official world's fair in the United States. Held to commemorate the centenary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Wikipedia gives all the info on this link.

Ostensibly the Centennial Photographic Co, formed by William Notman, W. Irving Adams, Edward L. Wilson and J.A. Fraser, held the sole rights for stereoviews. In practice, many other companies muscled in. We begin the page with the fine Notman views which are in cabinet card format. The titles of these are abysmally printed into the image and are difficult to read.
